With a rich, track-bred legacy, Audi is just as familiar with the track as it is opulent showrooms. Most enthusiasts, however, know the luxury brand more for its street-legal models such as the Audi A4, Audi A5, Audi A6, Audi A7, Audi A8, Audi Q5, and Audi Q7. That said; the popular Four-Ringed automaker has not let common perceptions curtail their sprinting spirit. While they have to keep horsepower across the new Audi lineup within reason; they're cutting loose on the track. So much so that they've just taken an overall victory at the internationally-revered Nurburgring 24-Hour Race.

The Audi credited with stealing the top of the podium is none other than the R8 LMS Ultra. Of course, the car is only half of the equation in racing. Audi also has the skilled Marc Basseng, Christopher Haase, Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock to thank.

Perhaps more impressive, though, is the fact that Audi didn't just take first place. They actually left the event with an impressive one-two finish. That's right; Audi held first and second-place positions atop this year's Nurburgring podium.

Jim Ellis Audi Marietta would also like to note that Audi's overall Win at Nurburgring is not a rare one-off. Rather, it follows a series of previous wins 2011-2012. Among the most prominent are those had at Bathurst, Spa and Zolder.
