Audi has decided to put the R8 e-tron on hold after projected demand and potentially high battery costs. As far as when they might let their finger off the pause button? Maybe never.
Speaking on the event, Michael Dick, Board Member, Technical Development, Audi AG says, "The record-setting drive confirmed that we are on the right track. To us electric mobility has never been about sacrifice, but rather is about emotion, sportiness and driving pleasure."1
But even so, there may be good news in store...
While the development of the Audi R8 e-tron might be on hold, the Four-Ringed automaker has no plans to cease work on its sibling prototype, the Audi F12 E Performance. In case you've forgotten, or simply have never heard of the eco-friendly beast before, it boasts over 200 horsepower and over 400 lb.-ft. of torque.
Jim Ellis Audi serving Marietta is curious, if Audi does introduce an all-new sports EV to its lineup in the next couple of years, would you be interested enough to swing by our new new Audi dealership to take a test drive?
We'd love to know what you're friends think too. Feel free to email this post to them and ask for their opinion too. And remind them; we're not talking about just any EV. We're talking about a competitively priced, aggressive electric vehicle made by Audi.
