The global marketing and communications gurus at Strategic Vision have just announced this year's Total Quality Index. The winners - drum-roll, please- in the Near-Luxury and Luxury segments are the 2012 Audi A8 and A4 sedans.

Strategic Vision notes the innovation of the A4 & A8 as winning attributes. According to a recent press release, "If innovation is strong, especially such that customers can say they 'love it', when referring to the product, then perceptions of quality will be greatly (positively) influenced."1

The firm is also careful to point out that total quality (i.e., innovation) carries much more clout among new car buyers than total problems. The press release explains, "With all the manufacturers being in such traditional quality proximity (counting problems only), there is little question that those car manufacturers who offer rich and impactful, intuitive, motivationally designed cars [i.e., Audi] will have the advantage going into the future."2
