Audi is set to showcase its advanced four-door concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. The concept sedan features a “highly technical look” and serves as a sneak peek into the future of Audi’s new design language.
Besides offering a look at Audi’s new design language, the concept car clues us in to the size, shape, appearance, and features of Audi’s new high-tech range-topping model, the A9. The A9 will serve as Audi’s flagship sedan when it launches in 2017.
According to autocar.co.uk, the flagship will adopt Audi’s latest aluminum space-frame construction and be based on the same MLB platform that underpins the upcoming fifth generation A8. AutoCar’s unnamed source notes that the top-of-the-line A9 will feature a new digital instrument cluster, a single-frame grille, laser headlights, and precise detailing.
“It builds on the design in place today but takes it to a whole new level. The design department is working very closely with the production department to give future Audi models a more technical look, with added accuracy in terms of build.”
Make sure to keep your eye on the Los Angeles Auto Show this November, where the new concept car will be one of 60 vehicles unveiled for the first time. Here at Jim Ellis Audi Marietta, we’ll be watching closely!
