Speed enthusiasts got a taste of what Audi has in store for the Geneva Motor Show a little early. Thanks to 'dreboog,' who posted a low resolution photo on Instagram, Audi fans were cheering. The Audi R8 image leaked online revealed a more muscular look. Sharper headlights and a lower, wider hexagonal grille fill out the front of the improved model.
The Audi R8 is planned to use the same platform as the Lamborghini Huracan. While we at Jim Ellis Audi of Marietta won't know any full, confirmed details until March, sources hinted that the V8 and V10 engine options will remain. That being said, a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission is expected to take over from the six speed manual gearbox.
In addition, Audi executives have confirmed an all-electric version of the R8 is on the way. The electric model, dubbed 'e-tron,' "will be introduced with the successor of the R8, and we will have [the] first example of the car next March." The battery will offer at least 310 miles per charge. The supercar debuts at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
