Audi may have accidentally unveiled a new LG smartwatch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, where a smartwatch, cell phone, and tablet where all used to unlock an Audi S7 from afar.
Here's the catch: Audi didn’t say much about the smartwatch, and while it doesn't appear to be Android Wear, spectators claim the watch ran Open WebOS. An Audi engineer told PC Mag that Audi isn't "saying it's webOS." But he also didn't say it isn't.
Regardless, the smartwatch allows you to unlock your car with a simple tap on the screen. Even if the batteries die, the watch can still unlock the car because it uses near field communication. This mean the watch can also locate cars in busy parking lots.
Whatever system is runs on, we at Jim Ellis Audi Marietta are looking forward to the LG Audi smartwatch. What do you think about this idea? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
