I am the General Sales Manager at Jim Ellis Audi Marietta. I have over 30 years auto sales experience. We have 6 grown kids and 12 grand kids. Over the years I have lent my assistance to many of my kids to help them to buy their cars. They always seek my counsel.
Recently my 34 year old daughter who lives with her family in Austin, Texas sent me an E Mail stating that her company needed to buy her a new company car and asked for my advice. i agreed to help.
A few days later she sent me an another E Mail saying she had settled on a Ford Fusion. I have sold premium luxury cars for many years and just do NOT have good feelings for FORD products. I told her I thought she was not making the wisest purchase decision. Obviously I was not telling her what she wanted to hear.
I did not hear from her about this again till just this past Friday when she texted me photos of her 13' Certified BMW X3 SUV that she had just picked up from a BMW Dealer in Dallas. I texted her back my best wishes.
Saturday evening she called to ask if I knew very much about how the accessories work on a BMW? Things like the Navigation and Bluetooth System, etc. I said I would try to help by answering her questions.
I asked if her BMW Sales Specialist had not gone over these important areas during the delivery process for her "Ultimate Driving Machine". She said he threw her the keys and said goodbye; not even filling up the tank with gas.
After a few questions it became obvious that she did NOT have any of the options she had been assured by her BMW Sales Specialist. By this time she was crying like an 8 year old girl and asking what she should do.
My best advice was to get back into the car and drive it ASAP back to Dallas and let the Dealer know she had been misled and did not want that car. She did not do that. She instead called the GM of the dealership and he promised to look into the issue the next time she was in Dallas!

Unbelievable! She got her clock cleaned! How embarrassing! My other 5 grown kids are howling with delight at her situation.
Most people think this type of story could not happen in today's world. Think again. It happens every day.
