The Mission: Defend the Audi Racing Heritage
Audi has only one mission, to defend the Italian GT Championship. So many Audi technological advances have come out of the dominant Audi racing Heritage. The Audi Team is ready to dominate again. Emilio Radaelli’s team starts the new season on May 2nd, with two Audi R8 LMS Ultra. For Dindo Capello this is going to be his last Championship in the motorsport world. In his former career, he has already won three time the Le-Mans Race.
This season starts in Vallelunga, where eight automakers are present with there sports cars. The Audi Sport Italia team wants to win this season with its experience in the last five seasons. Since their entry in the GT Championship, they have won already three team classification, one driver tittle, and in total 19 races on the track.
To defend the title, Audi brings a mixture of drivers. One of them is Dindo Capello, his co-driver is Emanuele Zonzini from San Marino. In the other car from the Audi Sport Italia team, compete the two italian drivers Marco Mapelli, and Andrea Amici. This two drivers aren’t blank slates. Amici has won the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in 2013, and is now debuting for the Audi Sport Italian team. Mapelli mist the title last year in this GT Championship by just three points.
The team chef Emilio Radaelli is very charmed by the new young drivers. “The large number of local talents on the grid in the 2015 season has not been since the Super Touring Car era in the nineteen-nineties.” He added to this that his team is going to fight for the Cup defend until the last race, although its going to be a very tough season this year.
For every Dindo Capello fan this season is going to be not only a exciting and tough season, its going to be too a very emotional season. Capello said in an interview, that he turned in the years since the Audi Sport Italia team entered the GT Championship from a half time Audi-dealer, to a full time Audi-dealer. So many of Audi's technological innovations were born out of their successful dominance in racing.
Romolo Liebchen, the leader of Audi Sport custom racing, really likes his representative in Italia. He is convinced that the Audi Sport Italia team is going to achieve a great result like in the former years, and like in the other Racesport areas.”We wish Emilio and his drivers a good season and a lot of success.”
