In November, Audi was awarded most 2022 TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards. With the selection of the 2023 Audi A5 Coupe, Audi has 15 models that meet the IIHS criteria for the award, more than any other manufacturer. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, non-profit organization funded by auto insurance companies to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research.

 

Selection for the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ requires the vehicle must successfully meet two criteria categories: a crashworthiness test—how well the vehicles protect its occupants in a crash, and crash avoidance and mitigation—the technology utilized to prevent a crash or lessen its severity.  

 

The Audi Q5 and A3 to A7 models have also been awarded the 2022 TOP SAFETY PICK+. A full list of vehicles awarded the safety rating are listed below:
