Here at Audi Marietta, we’ve always been proud of the fact that the Audi Brand is on the cutting edge of safety innovation. And with its recent partnership with Navistar, the Audi Brand looks to take its safety technologies to new frontiers with its Cellular Vehicle to Everything suite. With this new safety innovation, Audi prioritizes the safety not just of its drivers, but also of the over 26 million students who ride school buses throughout the country.

The Cellular Vehicle to Everything technology, also known as C-V2X, was recently demonstrated using one of the most popular new Audi models in the lineup, the Audi Q4 e-tron® Sportback. In concert with a Navistar IC Bus®, the C-V2X suite leverages direct communication between both vehicles to alert the drivers and passengers to each other’s presence.

Bypassing conventional connections via cellular networks, the C-V2X system allows both vehicles to communicate up to 10 times per second when both are within 400 meters of each other. Once they connect, the Audi vehicle displays an auditory warning and alert on its instrumentation to notify the driver. The advantage to this system is added warning and safety, particularly in cases where the Audi driver may not be able to see a stopped school bus, such as around sharp corners or over the crest of a hill.

In fact, this is just one of the exceptional applications for the new C-V2X system, which has already been demonstrated to be effective with stationary school and construction zones, not to mention cyclists and road hazards.

But the Cellular Vehicle to Everything technology is just one of many outstanding safety innovations debuting on new Audi vehicles. To learn more about the Audi Brand’s commitment to road safety, don’t hesitate to pay a visit to our Marietta, GA Audi dealership on the Cobb Parkway today.
